Delegation of the City of Zadar and Port of Zadar Authority paid official visit to Antalya and Izmir from October 06 to 10, 2008.
Dr. Živko Kolega, Mayor of Zadar has led the delegation composed of the representatives of the Port of Zadar Authority led by the General Manager Mr. Ivica Buric, Zadar Airport General Manager Mrs. Katica Pupic Bakrac, and the Undersecretary of Zadar Chamber of Commerce Mr. Dinko Basioli.

Dr. Živko Kolega, Mayor of Zadar has led the delegation composed of the representatives of the Port of Zadar Authority led by the General Manager Mr. Ivica Buric, Zadar Airport General Manager Mrs. Katica Pupic Bakrac, and the Undersecretary of Zadar Chamber of Commerce Mr. Dinko Basioli.
During the meetings with state officials and local dignitaries of Antalya two sides agreed that there is huge potential in cooperation between sea ports of the two cities in passenger, cargo and Ro-Ro transport, as well as the potential in cooperation in tourism.
Two sides agreed to prepare the legal, administrative and commercial framework for the further work on the project of opening of the sea route between Antalya and Zadar.
The Zadar's delegation stressed that Zadar Sea Port “Gaženica” has modern infrastructure, including modern four tracks highway and railroad coming from Central Europe directly to port piers, with Zadar Airport and industry zone just four kilometers away. Zadar See Port entered to a new project of reconstruction which is funded by German and EU institutions which will significantly extend the capacity of the port.
Zadar Delegation paid a visit to Izmir where the potentials of Antalya-Zadar sea route was presented to businessman dealing with sea transportation.
Furthermore, the Mayors of Izmir and Zadar agreed to encourage the establishment of the cooperation between the universities and academic communities of the two cities, as well as to initiate the establishment of the formal cooperation between Izmir and Zadar.
