Ambassador of Croatia Gordan Bakota and his wife Snježana hosted a reception to bid farewell to the outgoing Defense Attaché Colonel Blago Dujmovic and to welcome his successor Captain Jerko Letica at Gordion Hotel on Wednesday.

Ambassador of Croatia Gordan Bakota and his wife Snježana hosted a reception to bid farewell to the outgoing Defense Attaché Colonel Blago Dujmovic and to welcome his successor Captain Jerko Letica at Gordion Hotel on Wednesday. Col. Dujmovic had captured many hearts during his assignment to the Turkish capital and as a result of his good relations with the Turkish General Staff and his colleagues from military attaché corps were present at the event. Col. Dujmovic was the first military attaché of Croatia assigned to Turkey and served for the past four years in the capital. Ambassador Bakota delivered a farewell speech in which he said „Today I would like to express my deepest condolences and sympathies to Turkish guests and dignitaries for all of the atrocities and pain suffered by the recent terrorist attacks.“ „Colonel Blago Dujmovic will be remembered as a first Croatian military attaché in Turkey. With his all military knowledge and background as well as diligent work, Blago Dujmovic has managed to establish excellent relations with Turkish military authorities, starting almost from the scratch. Today is Croatian military relations the crown jewelers within our overall bilateral relations. I'm proud to say that Croatia is advancing toward NATO membership, thanks to Turkish friendship and support too. Next year we are expecting an invitation for NATO membership,” Ambassador Bakota said. Then Col. Dujmovic took the floor and after welcoming his friends and colleagues thanked them all for the support he received both from the Turkish side and his counterparts. Then indicating that the unforgettable and remarkable moments spent in Turkey will never be forgotten, he wished his successor Captain Letica success. After the speeches, Dean of the Military Attaché Corps and Jordanian Brig. Gen. Khalid Al-Khazaleh handed the traditional silver tray on behalf of all his counterparts to outgoing Defense Attaché Colonel Blago Dujmovic. Although it was yet another heart breaking event, thanks to lively Croatian music played and the delicatessens brought from Croatia, guests enjoyed the night until the late hours. (TNA)
