Minister Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic received Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov for official visit
Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic received on Wednesday, 5 September 2007 Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov for an official visit.
Minister Grabar-Kitarovic and Minister Mammadyarov concluded that the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Azerbaijan have developed good bilateral and multilateral relations, without any open issues despite the geographical distance.
The ministers exchanged their views on further bilateral cooperation between the two countries, cooperation within the framework of multilateral organisations and on the current affairs in Southeast Europe. The also expressed desire to further strengthen relations and in that sense announced intensifying communication and cooperation between the two countries and official visits on high levels.
Minister Mammdyarov took the opportunity to announce the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Croatia, located in Zagreb, which is to additionally strengthen the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Both sides expressed will for strengthening mutual economic cooperation, particularly in the area of energy industry, oil and gas, and in building the necessary infrastructure. Prospects for good cooperation exist also in the area of culture and tourism, concluded the ministers.
