Croatian ambassador held meeting with Albin Kurti chairman of Vetevendosje

Ambassador Barišic congratulated on election results and informed Mr. Kurti on priorities of Croatian presidency which starts on 1st of January 2020 adding that european integration and enlargement will be among them. She was further interested in the process of forming the Government and the priorities on which the Kurti Government program will be built. Mr. Kurti briefed Ambassador Barišic on the negotiation process with the ruling coalition"s future partner. He indicated that the program of the future Government of the Republic of Kosovo is already in the phase of completion, with the successful completion of the negotiation process, which will result in a Government of progressive changes. The new priority government will be to increase citizens" well-being and fight crime and corruption within and outside institutions. Both sides agreed that the emigration of citizens of the Balkan states, especially young people, to the developed countries of Europe presents a major problem for the region. The phenomenon of brain drain is reducing the capacity for economic development in the country, whether it is in Croatia, which is already a member of the EU, or in countries like Kosovo, which have made little progress towards European integration. They agreed that the only solution to overcoming this chronic problem is to promote prosperity through economic development, and equality before the law through the fight against crime and corruption.
