Croatian Ambassador attends the Canadian National Curling Championship for the blind.
The Canadian Council of the Blind invited the Croatian Ambassador, Vesela Mrden Korac, to attend the opening ceremony of the 2007 CCB National Curling Championship. The Canadian Council of the Blind was established in 1944 and has since been involved in education, sport and other special programs that enrich the quality of life for the blind and visually impaired.
Since curling is a national sport that the blind and visually impaired persons in Canada participate in, the Canadian Council promotes the sport for a program as part of the Para-Olympic Games. The third yearly bonspiel was held on February 4th, 2007, in Ottawa. Among the participants in the opening ceremonies were the Provincial Minister of Health of Ontario, President of the Canadian Para-Olympic Games and the Canadian Curling Champion.
