European Higher Education Fair in Japan
On May 20-21 Meiji University in Tokyo and Doshisha University in Kyoto hosted the European Higher Education Fair 2017 where a number of European Higher Education Institution presented the opportunities of studying in Europe to Japanese current and future students. This year’s edition was the first time that Croatia participated in this event organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Japan and partners.
In cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia, among around 80 European Institutions, Zagreb School of Economics and management (ZšEM) presented its offer of undergraduate and graduate programmes in English, as well as summer school programmes intended for international students. ZšEM is already cooperating with four Japanese Universities and maintains regular student exchange between Croatia and Japan. As part of the programme, alumni of European universities presented their experiences of studying in Europe, among them one of former ZšEM students talked about his positive impressions of studying in Croatia.
Ministry of Science and Education of Croatia supported this event and the Embassy presented the study programmes in English from all Croatian Higher Education institutions. Study in Croatia
Japanese Government is actively supporting internationalization of the Japanese system of Higher Education, as well as promoting possibilities for the Japanese students to study abroad. This could be an opportunity to expand the cooperation between Croatian and Japanese universities.
In addition to many students, Croatian booth was visited by the Mayor of Kyoto Daisaku Kadokawa, President of the Meiji Unviersity Keichirou Tsuchiya, Ambassador of the European Union to Japan Viorel Isticioaia-Budura and Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia Dražen Hrastic.
