the Delegation of the Croatian Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Sea, Transport and Infrastructure visited the People''s Republic of China
Upon the invitation of the Ministry of Finance and the Government of the People's Republic of China the Delegation of the Croatian Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Sea, Transport and Infrastructure headed by the Vice-Premier Ivan Šuker visited the People's Republic of China from July 3 to July 9, 2010.
Upon the invitation of the Ministry of Finance and the Government of the People's Republic of China the Delegation of the Croatian Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Sea, Transport and Infrastructure headed by the Vice-Premier Ivan Šuker visited the People's Republic of China from July 3 to July 9, 2010. The Croatian delegation met with the first Vice-Premier of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang. The Croatian delegation also had an official meetings with the Finance Minister Xie Xuren, the Minister of Commerce Chen Deming, the Governor of the People's Bank of China Zhou Xiaochuan, the President of the Export-Import Bank of China Li Rouge and the President of the China Development Bank Chen Yuan.
The Chinese first Vice-Premier Li Keqiang expressed excellent bilateral relations which have been reaffirmed during the Chinese President Hu Jintao state visit to Croatia last June, as well as visit of the Croatian President Ivo Josipović to China in May 2010. The Republic of Croatia is the most important partner of China in the South-East Europe. The China will stimulate and strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy and trade, investment, finance, tourism and other fields. Chinese first Vice-Premier underlined very important geostrategic position of the Croatian Port of Rijeka for the import of the Chinese goods to the market of the South-East of Europe and European market. He expressed his opinion about the positive outcome of the anti-recession measures introduced by the European countries. However, the situation is still threatening because of a debt-crisis in some of them. He is informed about the positive outcome of the Croatian anti-recession measures and stable economic and financial situation of the Republic of Croatia. The Government of the People's Republic of China supports and encourages Chinese companies to compete for businesses on the foreign markets. He is convinced in stronger development of economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. The Croatian Vive-Premier Šuker underlined potentials for the further bilateral relations in the fields of economy, trade, investment, finance, tourism and other fields. Particularly, he introduced Chinese side about the Croatian ports of Rijeka and Ploče Projects, the Railway network Project, the Zagreb Airport Project, the Croatian Shipbuilding industry privatization process, the Energy sector projects and other infrastructural projects. The Republic of Croatia invites the Chinese companies to participate in the international tenders for the above mentioned projects.

The Croatian Delegation visited Shanghai at the beginning of the visit to China. The Delegation headed by Vice-Premier Ivan Šuker met with the senior representatives of the Chinese company Huawei and the World Expo 2010. They visited the Chinese and Croatian Pavilion at the World Expo. Vice-Premier Ivan Šuker awarded one-millionth visitor to the Croatian Pavilion.
