At the invitation of Ambassador Marcus Ederer, Head of EU Delegation in the People's Republic of China, Ambassador Ante Simonić attended the meeting of EU Heads of Mission in Beijing on 13 December 2011. China Radio International and Croatian Embassy in Beijing organized the 3rd Charity Football Tournament. There were a four football teams competed at the Tournament.
The donations collected at the Tournament were given to the Shuang He Primary School from the Chinese Autonomous Province of Ning Xia. On November, 4,2011, the famous Croatian String Quartet Rucner had a successful concert at the premises of the most eminent music hall in Beijing, the National Centre for the Performing Arts, for over two hundred guest.

The High-level Symposium on the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) took place from 7-10 September 2011 in Beijing, China. It was co-organized by the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the UNCSD Secretariat.
The Symposium aimed to facilitate in-depth discussions among government officials, experts and representatives from the UN system and Major Groups on both the objective and the two themes of Rio+20, with a view to formulating concrete proposals as a contribution to preparations for the Conference, to be held in Brazil in 2012.
