The delegation of Zabok City of Croatia visited SanMenXia City of China, which has 2,3 million population, from 18 to 20 May 2012. The Croatian delegation headed by Mr. Ivan Hanžek the Major of the City of Zabok Major, and Mrs. Nevenka Gregurić, Vice-Major of the City of Zabok had a meetings with a senior officials of the Municipal Government of SanMenXia regarding the development of further cooperation on various fields including economy, trade, investment, culture, sports and other areas between the two cities

On May 10th, 2012 Croatian Embassy, Slovenian Embassy to China and China Friendship Association with Foreign Countries (CAFFC) held a reception for celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relationship between China and Croatia, as well as China and Slovenia. At the invitation of Ambassador Marcus Ederer, Head of EU Delegation in the People's Republic of China, Ambassador Ante Simonić attended the meeting of EU Heads of Mission in Beijing on 13 December 2011. The meeting was attended by the ambassadors of 27 EU missions. Ambassador Ederer welcomed the Croatia accession to the EU, while Ambassador Simonić in his speech highlighted the importance of Croatian accession to the EU, Croatia’s commitment to European values and traditions and gratitude for the recognition of Croatia as a EU partner.

From November 22-25, 2011, two Croatian poets, Ivan Herceg and Marko Pogačar participated at the First International Poetry Festival, organized by the Beijing Normal Capital University. The Embassy of Croatia in Beijing organized the performance of Ivan Herceg and Marko Pogačar poetry on November, 23 at the Cathedra for Croatian Language at the Beijing Foreign Studies University.
