Ambassador Simonić pays an inaugural visit to Hong Kong

Ambassador Ante Simonić paid an inaugural visit to Hong Kong from 23 to 25 March 2009. The program of visit was carried out successfully with full organizational support provided by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Croatia in Hong Kong Sir Gordon Wu.

Historical: Croatian Language Broadcast on China Radio International

On 26 February 2009 Croatian Ambassador to China Professor Ante Simonić paid a visit to China Radio International (CRI) and took part in the CRI's first ever broadcast in Croatian language. This visit marked the launch of the two-hour daily broadcasting in Croatian.

Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the People’s Republic of China Ante Simonić presented credentials to Chinese President Hu Jintao.

In a cordial meeting after the presentation, President Hu wished Ambassador Simonić welcome, commending his founding of the Croatian-Chinese Friendship Society, which has contributed significantly to a better understanding between the two countries.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković received 4 March 2008 on inaugural visit the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Croatia, Wu Lianqi.

State Secretary for European Integration Marija Pejčinović Burić and State Secretary for Organisation, Development and Management Željko Kuprešak received separately on 12 and 23 November 2007 to inaugural visit the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Croatia, Wu Lianqi.

State Secretary for Political Affairs Hido Biščević separately received on 8 November 2007 Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium Marc de Schoutheete de Tervarent and Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Wu Lianqi.

The Republic of Croatia was elected a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2008/2009 period. At the elections in New York on 16 October 2007, attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, Croatia was elected in the third round of voting by the support of 184 countries, after opposing candidate the Czech Republic quitted due to Croatia’s advantage in the previous rounds.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Croatia expresses concern over Taiwan’s recent proposal to hold a referendum on joining the United Nations entitled “Taiwan”, which does not contribute to the peace in stability in the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, pursuant to the Article 17 Paragraph 2 of the Voter Registry Act (Official Gazette no. 19/07), calls for the previous registration of the voters voting abroad.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic is in an official visit to the People's Republic of China in Hong Kong, where on Wednesday, 23 May 2007 she met with Secretary General of the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong Rafael Hui.
