Scientific Conference on Statute of Drisht

The Albanian University Luarasi organised on 19 December 2014, in the National Historic Museum in Tirana, a scientific conference on the Statute of the ancient Albanian city of Drisht, dating back to 1460, that was discovered in 1930, in Vienna street book stands, by the Croatian historian and one of the founders of albanology Milan Shufflay. After introductory remarks by the Dean of the University Prof. Dr. Irakli Kocollari, in his address to the audience Ambassador Aleksander Stipetic portrayed in brief lines the life and work of Milan Shufflay, the significance of his contribution to the research of Albanian history and the friendship between the Croatian and Albanian peoples, with final remarks reading as follows: „Milan Shufflay and his legacy will always be a powerful bond between the Croatian and the Albanian peoples. We are proud of him and his accomplishments, and we are highly appreciative of his enormous contribution to a better understanding of the Albanian history.
