At a ceremony held in Tirana on 11 December 2019, Prime Minister Edi Rama honored all foreign Search and Rescue Units, which were involved in the search and removal of casualties beneath the rubble in Durres and Thumane, after the earthquake on 26 November 2019. "Gold medals for professional recognition" were awarded to teams from Kosovo, Italy, Turkey, France, Israel, Greece, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Switzerland, EU, US and UN, through ambassadors of their countries. The Croatian ambassador Kramaric received the medal as a sign of gratitude to the Croatian Special Rescue Unit.
