Ambassador Kušen attended the conference the "EU-Korea Research and Development Day", that was held in Seoul on 24 March 2026, co-organised by the Delegation of the European Union in Seoul and the National Research Foundation of Korea. The conference marked the first anniversary of the Republic of Korea's accession to the EU's Horizon Europe programme as an associated member. For more than a year, Korean scientists and researchers have been able to benefit from funds for the implementation of joint research programmes with European research institutions, which has significantly strengthened EU-Korea bilateral cooperation. Panel speakers shared their experiences and the benefits of the Horizon Europe programme.
Ambassador Dr. Kušen attended the conference and took the opportunity to talk with the First Minister of Science and ICT of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Koo Hyuk-chae, as well as with the leaders of the strongest Korean research institutions and associations, with a view to strengthening cooperation.
