Citizenship

The Croatian Citizenship Act (Official Gazette of the Republic of Croatia  53/91, 70/91, 28/92, 113/93-Decision of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Croatia, 4/94, 130/11, 110/15 and 102/19) regulates Croatian citizenship, the requirements for its acquisition and its termination.

The authority in charge of interpreting the provisions of the Law on Croatian Citizenship is the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia.

Applications for registering children with the Register of Croatian citizens, for the acquisition, determination of or release from Croatian citizenship that under the Law can also be filed abroad, shall be filed through a diplomatic mission or a consular office of the Republic of Croatia abroad. On the website of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs  (www.mfa.hr) there are contact details of the diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Republic of Croatia abroad
