Celebration of Statehood Day of the Republic of Croatia in Jakarta

The Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Jakarta solemnly celebrated the Statehood Day of the Republic of Croatia by organizing a reception and a cultural-artistic program, which brought together numerous guests from Indonesia’s political, diplomatic, economic, and cultural circles, as well as members of the Croatian community and friends of Croatia in Indonesia.
 
A special honor was the presence of the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, Raja Juli Antoni, who attended as the guest of honor. In their speeches, the participants emphasized the importance of the friendly relations between Croatia and Indonesia, which continue to develop through political dialogue, economic cooperation, cultural exchange, and people-to-people contacts. The importance of strengthening cooperation in the fields of education, tourism, sustainable development, and environmental protection was also highlighted, along with the shared interest in further deepening bilateral relations.
 
The central cultural event of the evening was a concert entitled “Croatia and Indonesia - A Cultural Bridge through Music and Youth”, which uniquely connected the cultural traditions of the two countries. The concert was held in the prestigious J. S. Bach Recital Hall and was performed by young and talented musicians from the Varaždin School of Music, organized by the Cultural Diplomacy Department of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Jakarta.
 
The program featured soprano singers Chrystzel Renae Aveda and Tanja Tušek, whose performances showcased the richness of the vocal music tradition and the high level of artistic education of young Croatian musicians. They were accompanied by a Tamburitza Quartet consisting of Simon Cmrčec, Mislav Patrečić, Martin Sakač, and Matija Španić, thereby presenting the tambura as one of the most recognizable symbols of Croatian music and cultural heritage.
 
The celebration of Croatia’s Statehood Day in Jakarta once again confirmed the excellent relations between Croatia and Indonesia and the important role of cultural diplomacy in connecting people and strengthening mutual understanding.
