Priorities of the 3SI 2026 Croatian Presidency

Build a strong, resilient and competitive Three Seas region to reinforce the EU
Strengthening the resilience and competitiveness of the 3SI region as a backbone of European resilience is a key priority. The focus is on accelerating the development and modernisation of transport, energy and digital infrastructure to improve connectivity among 3SI countries and to further develop a north-south economic corridor.

Connect globally by linking 3SI with the India - Middle East - Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) and the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor)
A priority is to support the evolution of the 3SI from a regional into a more globally connected platform by linking it with the IMEC and the Middle Corridor. This will contribute to the development of new value chains and strengthen the role of the 3SI region along the longest north-south connectivity axis.

Deepen cooperation with strategic partners, particularly with transatlantic allies
This priority focuses on strengthening cooperation with the USA and other transatlantic partners to enhance the competitiveness of the region. The 3SI area is positioned as a pragmatic platform for strengthening energy security, resilience and diversification of energy supply through deeper strategic energy cooperation, as well as increased investment in new and emerging technologies.

Mobilise private capital through diversified financing instruments and attractive investment opportunities
Mobilising private capital supports the development of strategic projects across the Three Seas region. This includes leveraging diversified financing instruments, public-private partnerships and investment platforms to attract both regional and international investors.
